Article 5.13. MUNICIPAL PURPOSE SIGNS  


The Township Committee may authorize the erection of municipal purpose signs to advise the traveling public that they are entering or leaving the municipality or that they are a location of historic significance. Any such signs shall comply with the following conditions:

1.

The sign is to be located within the public right-of-way, upon governmentally owned land, or upon private property where permission has been granted to the Township by recorded agreement.

2.

The sign is to be on a pole or standard which does not exceed eight (8) feet in height.

3.

The sign shall be adjacent to a roadway within the municipality and, for entering or leaving signs, within 300 feet of the municipal boundary.

4.

The specific design, location and content is to be approved by the Township Committee before installation.

5.

The sign shall not be illuminated.
